Creative Brief

Concept

The idea behind the name "The Far Meadow" is to imply the long journey of inner work and an eventual place of peace. The Far Meadow is a place just beyond the horizon. A place reached not by speed, but by patience and consistency. A place where the self ripens into service and you have the spaciousness to think beyond yourself.

At its heart, The Far Meadow is about helping people grow into more whole, mature human beings -- people with greater wisdom, vision, creativity, courage, and the capacity to use their gifts and power in service of the larger world.

I’d like to imagine people might say: "Have you heard of The Far Meadow? It's a school I'm a part of where we play the long game with our inner work. The school’s ultimate mission is to rewild our culture with a new generation of elders. There are courses for healing, and communities for brainstorming and collaboration. I feel so inspired and hopeful, like I can see a path forward for a truly enriching and meaningful life for myself, and a culture that is safe and wise and compassionate.”

Visuals

Visually, I want the school to reflect three intertwined themes: nature, human creativity, and human maturation. Humans should feel woven into the natural world rather than separate from it. (The tulip with people sitting inside it is a wonderful example of this.)

The visuals should be timeless, and appeal to all ages, all genders, and all orientations.

Aesthetically, I'm drawn toward imagery that is elegant, strange, beautiful, imaginative, and a little dark. I want to deliberately steer away from anything cute, sweet, or conventionally “spiritual.” It might be nice to incorporate some archetypal imagery, such as a snake coiled up in a circle, or a gilded compass. But I want nature to always feel like the foundation.

Where possible, I'd love the artwork to hold contrasts: beauty and darkness or strangeness, humanity and nature, playfulness and depth. It should feel creative and alive, with room for mystery. Almost as though we're developing our own little mythology for The Far Meadow.

Project 01: Image Card

An image for use as the image card for all programs and for membership registration. See below for placement.

Project 02: ten-second animated course opener

This will be placed at the beginning of each course lesson in the school. It would need to be something I can easily add text to myself, with a natural place for the course title and the lesson title. (I use CapCut to edit videos, so it’s pretty easy to place animated text in desired locations.) It should be a standard horizontal video size.
